spazems in the stomach

Hi I  had a thyroidectomy they were both removed after finding a lump a biopsy was done and was inconclusive the next step opening me up and seeing what was goning on it turned out to be cancer so they removed them. then i stared experencing difficulty swaollowing pills and sometimes food it seemed to get stuck in my thorat so my doctor order a berrium drink test and they found that i have spazem in my stomoch  they get stuck and just sit there. I did'nt have this before my thyroid problem know they want me to see a G i doctor and have a upper gi and lower and i'm very sccared because know I think they will find something else know. Why did I develope this and are the doctors doing the right things. I had a serious mistake made by a doctor and know I do not trust them any more. B.J.  Help me

I have no thyroid, I get terrible stomach muscle spasms, but not internal spasms...probably my hormone levels aren't right.  Tell your doctor, may be related, but then again, it is good to be thorough.

You only have (had, in your case) one thyroid gland, which has 2 lobes and an isthmus.

I don't know that your stomach issue is related to the thyroid, so yes, I'd agree that you should see a gastroenterologist. If there's something else wrong, maybe it can be fixed before further damage is done.

Do you know if you have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis or Graves Disease?  Can you post your latest thyroid blood test results, along with the reference ranges, which vary from lab to lab, so must come from your own report.
