Question about Hasimoto's dx
On my FNA results it states " arising in a background of chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis".
When I look this up on google I get "AKA Hasimoto DX"
When my thyroid test came back normal I asked my doctor should we test for Hasimoto and he said no that he did not think that I had that. Does anyone know why the FNA would say this? Just trying to understand.

Ya..thats what gets me. Why would it be a DX on my FNA yet my doctor says that he does not think that I have it. (go figure)
Its amazing how doctors don't know all about this...Mt doc said my TSH wasn't high enough to have it! So I don't really know what to expect..I must wait two weeks till my results are back!
Yes. Lots of symptoms. I will ask him to run the antibody test next time I talk to him.
Did you do the antibody tests??? My doc said the same that its not hashimotos with out doing the anti body tests...I told him I wanted them done anyway! Waiting on results, dont know what going on with me...Have you symptoms???
