Not about me, but about the nurse who did my thyroid ultrasound today in the doctors office. A very fortunate lady.
I couldn't help but notice the fresh stitches on her neck from a recent thyroid surgery. She told me the office had gotten a new ultrasound machine in a few weeks ago and she was testing it out to make sure she'd know how to use it correctly on her patients.
She decided to try it out on her own neck and it wasn't long before she detected a small spot on her own thyroid. She knew right away the spot was cancerous and she ended up having surgery to remove her entire thyroid. She was shocked to see the testing she does on a daily basis, ended up saving her too. She had no prior symptoms or indications of any thyroid problems.
Today was her first day back to work and I can tell you, she was a very grateful lady.
