I have been doing some research and think I may have suffered through Subacute Thyroiditis years ago, but am looking for some more information. I have posted a couple of other times yesterday about my family having Graves, Hashimotos, and my possible thyroid disease symptoms. I seem to be going around in circles with doctors trying to find out what's wrong with me. About 8 years ago I had some strange things happen to me.
I began to lose a great deal of weight and I developed IBS and seemed to have diarrhea all of the time. I have always been a nervous person, and went through a couple periods of panic attacks, but I developed them quite fiercely during this time period. Within about a 6 month to a year period I was sick a lot. I developed horrible migraines- the worst HEADACHES IN THE WORLD. My neck ached as well as my jaw and my ears pulsated so intensely I thought I had an ear infection. I kept going to see doctors, but none of them would listen to me and they kept saying I just had allergies. One of them did mention something about a virus, but the idea never went anywhere. I wasn't tested for TSH at the time.
I have not been right ever since. I have had bouts with atrial fibrillation for no good reason (low potassium). I had to go to the ER for that. I have major pain throughout my body and have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I have had all the testing done for RA and they are negative. Every time I get a TSH test it always comes up normal. In Oct. 08 it was 1.06, but I have a strong feeling my problem is on the endocrine side of things, since everyone on my father's side of the family has an endocrine related disease.
I have osteoarthritis in my spine at age 33. I have degenerative disc disease and some nerve dysfunction from that as well. My left foot goes numb. I had a bone spur removed from my right shoulder and have been left in constant pain due to tendonitis that won't go away. I am concerned that something is going on and if I don't figure it out soon, more of me is going to deteriorate. I am just so confused about things and doctors are just not helping me. I've been dealing with symptoms since I was 17. I am now 33. Anyhow, any insights would be appreciated.
