Surgery Tuesday!

I go Tuesday to have the other side of my thyroid removed!  They removed the right side due to a 3.7 CM mass that turned out to be papillary with follicular variant thyroid cancer.  So Back I go!  I am so ready for this to be over with!  Well, I still have to do RAI. I think the worst part is not being on any meds to replace my thyroid. ): My Endo said they do not do the Thyrogen shots. (sp) Any advice? I do have to stay the night this time. ):

"No, he is the one who said no meds after surgery"   Did you mean no med "until" after surgery?

I can sympathize with you; you've only got a couple more days to wait. Once the surgery is over, you should be able to get back on med and hopefully, will feel better soon.

Best wishes.

No, he is the one who said no meds after surgery. I will be fine. Just stressing about the weight gain. ): As well as everything that comes with not being on meds for 6 weeks. I am not on any meds now and I am tired. So I am not looking forward to this.

Not sure what you can do, since you can't take thyroid med, but I can certainly wish you the best of luck with the surgery and subsequent RAI.

Fortunately, Tues, not far off; hopefully, you can muddle through. Your endo couldn't help you?
