A thyroid disorder is almost always caused by thyroid disease.

Some thyroid disorders can cause problems with the throat. Nodules or goiters can form on the thyroid, leading to varying amounts of throat discomfort.

I am not aware of any other throat disease triggered by thyroid disease.
