Throat pain (Near thyroid gland)

Few years ago I tasted a herbal jam. Jam was very very sweet, it damaged my throat. I had pain for more than 1 month. After few years, now I can’t eat any sweet, if I eat, I’ll get pain in my throat. Pain is near thyroid region, pain also radiates to the back of neck.

1) Is my thyroid gland damaged?.

2) Does the food we eat touches the thyroid gland while swallowing? I mean, if the food is too sweet or too hot,       while swallowing will it touch the thyroid gland & damage/effect it ?

3) Why does my throat pain if i eat sweet ?

I did the thyroid test, (currently I don’t remember the T3 values) :

T4   ==== 4.8  ( reference range 4.9 to 11)

THS ===== 0.52

Interpretation : Hypothyroid

I have symptoms like constipation, indigestion, low immunity, recurrent tonsillitis… What has happened to me ????
Doctors, please let me know your opinion.

Jam was chawanprash. I dont know what caused the damaged. If i don't eat any sweet item, i'll not have any pain. only after eating sweet i get pain in my throat. Pain lasts for 1 week.

No goiter, no nodules.

No I have not yet shown the report to the doctor. he is out of station.

This is the report:

What was the herb in the jam?  I can't imagine that it was the sweetness that did the damage; one can eat pure sugar or honey without damaging their throat.  Even if it had been the jam that caused your pain, I doubt it would have lasted this long.

No, food doesn't actually come in contact with the thyroid.

It would seem that there's something else causing your pain, other than the sweetness.  Do you have a goiter?  Do you know if you have nodules on your thyroid?

You should have had Free T4 and Free T3 tested, rather than just T4, which is Total T4 and is obsolete.  Free T4 and Free T3 are the hormones that are actually used by the body.

Has your doctor started you on thyroid hormone medication?
