Thyroid nuclear scan showed nothing

I had a thyroid uptake scan and it didn't show anything.  They told me the test would take about an hour, but after 10 minutes they told me to come back the next morning (which would be 24 hours).  The next day they did an extra x-ray just to make sure my thyroid wasn't ectopic,  then did the uptake scan.  The technician told me I was probably hypothyroid, I never heard anything from the doctor other than come back in a month for more blood work.  What is your take on that?

Hi,
When you speak with your doctor, ask for a copy of the reslults.  Not only ask for a copy, but ask questions.  No question is a dumb question when it comes to your body.  Unless you have results of the scan in % it is difficult to say anything about it.  The percentage of there is anything going on with the thyroid and if its hot or cold.

I always ask for a copy of everything they do on my body now.  I may not know how to read it, but I have it just in case someone else can read it.  Not to mention my fellew thyroidians on this site.
