extremely hard to gain weight

hello i went to get my thyroid checked at a lab test and and all the results came back normal. im 23 years old, 5'10" 147lbs. i work out ,but i still cant seem to gain weight. i drink a gallon of milk a day with calories on top so i probably eat around 3500 to 4000 calories a day and i quit cardio due to the fear that i might lose weight. i remember like 3 years ago i got into a fight with this guy and he hit me in my throat. could that have caused damage to my thyroid? iv also fractured my penis and now my penis is partially numb on the underside could that have unbalanced my hormones? iv also had a Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) test and the test came back normal. the results were 6.5 something like that out of 7. pretty much though iv been skinny all my life ,but its almost impossible to gain weight.

my thyroid results...

                                      results                     reference interval
tsh                                  1.670                            .450-4.500
thyroxine (t4)                      6.4                               4.5-12.0
t3 uptake                            35                                24-39
free thyroxine index            2.2                                1.2-4.9

should i go to and endocrinologist to ask him why i cant seem to gain weight?

Oh, what I'd do or your "problem"...you're one of the lucky ones!  Thirty is just seven years down the road!

My husband used to say "buy me a candy bar"...he meant one of those Hersey bars that was about 4" x 6" and weighed about a pound...he'd chow it down after dinner.  NO weight gain.  If I had done that, I'd have weighed 300 lbs. in about a week.

Celiac usually does come with gastric symptoms.

Have your dr check you for celiac disease.   My dad was diagnosed at 80 yrs old.   5'6" and never weighed more than 120 lbs in his life despite what he ate.   Most people are not aware they have it.

Well, both of those, along with the inability to gain weight, can be symptoms of hyperthyroidism.  It might be worth your while to see someone who will test FT3 and FT4.  Also, thyroid antibodies, TPOab and TGab, would indicate an autoimmune disease, like Hashi's or Grave's.  Since your symptoms sound hyper, you might also ask for TSI, which is the definitive test for Grave's (autoimmune hyperthyroidism).

How is your HR and BP?  Any intolerance to heat?  Insomnia?  Diarrhea?

Many years ago, when I met my husband, he was 21, 6'1" tall and weighed 145 lbs. on a good day...I was 5'5" tall and wieghed 145 lbs. if I was lucky.  I look back at pictures of him now and realize he was pathetically skinny.  I think what cured him was hitting 30!  He's still svelte for his age (wish I could say the same), but definitely "bulked up" around 30.

Your TSH looks good.  T4 is total T4 and considered an obsolete test that has been replaced by free T4.  T3 uptake is also obsolete and replaced by free T3.  The index is based on total T4, so also kind of useless.  You might ask for FT3 and FT4 and a repeat TSH, but do you have any other hyper symptoms?  You can google a list.
