When do you take your med?

I receive author Mary Shomon's newletters all about thyroid issues and the most recent one discusses when the best time to take our meds is. I take mine in the morning with water and wait an hour before having anything else to eat or drink. This research suggests it might be better to take the med at night before going to bed. When do you take yours?

I take mine first thing in the morning (7am). I tried it at night at one stage but for me morning is more convienient as I already take 5 other tablets in the evening, all of which cant be taken with the T4 med.

I'd go nuts if I had to wait an hour with no food or tea or coffee in the morning. That's cruel and unusual punishment in my book!

I figured the requirements are:

Empty stomach, at least 3-4 hours fasting
Full glass of water, and
One full hour after taking the pill before eating anything.

Best fit for me is at 4:30 PM or so. I ear early lunch, so I'm fasting by then. Water, no problem. And supper is over an hour away. Works for me.

I also use vitamin C with it, Mary's site published a study on how it seems to help absorption. Vitamin C helps for absorption on a lot of things.

Yes, I get Mary's newsletters too, and read that article.
  Personally for me if I took my T4 med at night, I wouldn't be able to sleep! I obviously get a rush of it around an hour after taking it, coz I get the shakes real bad.
  I also like a glass of wine in the evening too, so that would also affect it.

I am glad it works for some people!

First morning after taking my Levoxyl 125 before bed and I did wake up one hour after taking it, fell back to sleep and woke up an hour after that and then slept until i got up. So not sure yet but think i am going to stick with it. Morning was awesome for me...Took my vitamin D and fish oil pills with breakfast...no waiting. time will tell...I have a good feeling for me it is going to be better...will report in as i continue this trial period. As the day wears on I must say I feel fantastic and much better than usual...i won't jump the gun and say it is the best BUT i will take one day at a time and keep taking the med at night...happy me!
