Thyroid level?

I have been spotting for over a year now. The spotting started March 2017. I thought the spotting might be from breastfeeding. I remember looking online and someone suggesting to take fenugreek powder because the spotting might be from low progresterone. I took fenugreek for a month and the spotting stopped around May 2017. December 2017 my spotting started again after having intercourse then it stopped in February then came back again after having intercourse. Sometimes when Ny period is a few days late and I have intercourse I get my period. I am still spotting until this day. I went to the doctor and got a Pap smear which came back normal and also got some blood test done. My doctor said my thyroid levels were low by 5 points. He gave me another blood test to check my thyroid again yesterday and is also referring me to an endocrinologist in May. should I worry that my thyroid is low by 5 points?

What thyroid test was actually done and what was the result?  There are more than 1 thyroid tests that should be done to determine thyroid function and it doesn't sound like your doctor is being very thorough.  When you post the result(s), please post reference ranges, as well, since ranges can vary from lab to lab.

There's always cause for concern when thyroid hormones are not adequate since the thyroid controls several important body functions.  We'll be able to help you better, once we know exactly what your doctor is testing and what results are.
