tsh test

quick question for anyone: can it happen that a TSH test come back very different  6 days after 1st test? has anyone had errors with the test? my TSH level was <.01 , 6 days ago, now taken again comes back 1.07. does the pituitary fluctuate that quickly, or did the test get screwed up? I'm not on thyroid meds, haven't been formally diagnosed with anything yet. would totally appreciate any input! julie913

So many of the people on this forum talk about going to and endo.  Is this the best way to go?  I just go to my family M,D. and he usually refers me to other specialists.  He hasn't said anything to me about going to an endo.  Except for a pounding heart and soft nails I am starting to feel some better.  I'm still a lot more tired than I like but that could also be from allergies as we are having a heavy pollen count here in the south right now.  Please let me know what you think.  JoSue

In theory, at the beginning stage of thyroiditis, the thyroid releases additional amount of hormones, causing the levels flare up for the short time (brief hyperthyroid stage)

I have the same question too.  My TSH was from 2.4 to 3.4 in 5 days apart.
