Normal thyroid Levels after partial thyroidectomy but having symptoms of low thyroid

I had a partial thyroidectomy a little over a year ago due to a nodule that they wanted to biopsy.  My levels have been coming back normal so I have not been put on any medication, however, I do not feel well.  I have had super low energy, depression, anxiety and my hair is falling out.  Has anyone else experienced symptoms even with normal thryoid tests?

Thanks for the confirmation that symptoms could still be experienced with "normal" ranges. At least I know I am not going crazy.  I am going to need to get a hold of my doctor to get a copy of the results.  It has been impossible to get in to see my Endocronologist so I think I will go see my regular doctor.  My regular doctor did say that my levels are the same as they were before surgery, but still not sure till I see the numbers.  I will post early next week.  Thanks again.  So glad to be part of this online community.

I agree with gimel, and look forward to seeing your current lab results.  We see many patients whose results fall in the "normal" category, but they still have symptoms.

Just because your thyroid test results are within the so-called "normal" ranges does not mean that is adequate for YOU.  Many of our members report that symptom relief for them required that Free T3 was adjusted to the upper part of its range and Free T4 adjusted to around the midpoint of its range.  If you will post your actual test results and references shown on the lab report, members will be glad to help interpret the adequacy of your testing and treatment.

A good thyroid doctor will treat a hypo patient clinically by testing and adjusting Free T3 and Free T4 as necessary to relieve symptoms, without being constrained by resultant TSH levels.  Symptom relief should be all important to you, not just test results.
