Hello,
i don't know if my case is related to my thyroid issue but please help !
i am a 27 yo male, extremely active (sport, once or twice a day, weightlifting crossfit ...), generally in good health. i have a very soft hypothyroidism (i take 12.5g/day of levothyrox) and occasional gastrointestinal disorders due to stress or lactose ingestion. i am checking regularly my thyroid state, so far so good.
i first checked my body and got my results in May.
TSH was 6.96
also SGOT was 55
i made a second check a month later, June,
now TSH was 7.18 and FT3 1.98
SGOT : 78
SGPT : 48
so far no medicine, just checking and eliminating some food habits including chicken proteins
third test done in july, this one was special :
Ac. anti thyroperoxydase ATPO : 1165.5 UI/ml
the number is big related to its normal values, i wasn't happy at all
i followed this test by an ultrasound, and this is the report translated from french:
- the thyroid gland is enlarged in size, with globular contours of a highly heterogeneous reshaped echo, with hypo-echoic plaques and a small hypo-echoic nodule (measuring between 2 and 3.5 mm long axis) and the largest isthmic measuring 8.7 and 5.2 mm
- hyper vascularization of the thyroid gland with color Doppler
- thyroid measurements:
the right lobe 21x20x58 mm
the left lobe: 18x18x57 mm
the isthmus: 3.7 mm
the salivary glands (under maxillary and parotid) are normal size of homogeneous echostructure
Jugular-carotid adenopathies of inflammatory type
CONCLUSION:
Heterogeneous goitre remodeled multi nodular hyper vascularized with Doppler Color
= the doctor prescribed me : 12.5g of thyroxine every morning
Next check AUGUST : everything is fine :
TSH 4.56
FT4 0.93
SGPT 44 (ok)
SGOT 41 (still high a little bit but going down)
A week ago i remarked a small red dot in my lower back (the size of a nail) and its been there since (no itching, no pain)
yesterday i went to a specialist, he gave me Doxycyline 100mg (capsules) + Delor Cream (Clobetasol Propionate) twice a day.
After taking the capsule i began feeling an IMPORTANT muscular tension in my neck and around my thyroid, it feels like it is swelling or someone is strangling me very hard. there is no pain and the neck lymph nodes are painless when touching them.
i also need to say that i am currently being exposed to an EXTREMELY HIGH load of anxiety and stress as i am dealing with a manner that i hope i'll be done with tomorrow. this situation began a week ago.
1-Is it Doxycycline who is causing this?
2- is it related to my high anxiety and paranoia?
3- is my thyroid ok ?
can't reach my doctor as i am living abroad !
thank you !!
