Hi. Have you ever looked up BFS? Benign fasiculation syndrome? Theres a whole community online. It sounds to me like that could be what you have! I have it to. Its believed to be caused by a over active nervous system. Something that people with anxiety have. Nothing bad, just scary and annoying! Also, I just found out I have Hashimotos.....which also causes anxiety....thus amping BFS symptoms. You have to believe 3 neuros hun....theres no way 3 would miss something! I think you have bad anxiety like me, you remind me a lot of myself :) Have you previously been scared of having other diseases before this?? I hope this helps you some! Take a deep breath, you are OK! Neurologists are incredibly smart and highly trained doctors!
PS every symptom you listed are BFS symptoms :)
Hashimoto's doesn't cause things like that, but hypothyroidism can, if your levels aren't right.
Another thing I wondered about is Restless Leg Syndrome... you get that tickle and "water flowing" feeling and you just have to move the leg(s)... it's enough to drive you nuts... I had that when I was really hypo.
The other numbness, etc I can't say, because I never had that, other than numbness/tingling in my feet/hands.
Thanks both of you for replys. Yes I've heard of bfs but didn't think it would cause all of my symptoms. I really don't suffer with anxiety I know its not that. My symptoms calmed down towards the end of pregnancy then came back really bad since the birth. Yes I've thought about rls but no urge to move leg and nothing relieves it. My tsh has ranged from 3 - 7 could levels that low cause such symptoms? Xx
Hi, something you might wanna look at is Small Fiber Sensory Neuropathy, which can happen when prediabetic or insulin resistant and wont show up on emg. Or also could have that some positional nerve compression going on with legs. Face coldness and nose numbness could be alot of stuff viral, dental, painless migranes, muscle tension or like trigeminal neuralgia which sure ya read about.
I do think that many neurologist can miss stuff especially if its not neurological in origin , its a pretty new science really. But least you can be reassured that whatever it is isnt life threatening , they woulda found that. If you live near a major medical school, I would try neurology there and be patient with the neurlogist, alotta the answers are by excluding other stuff. Also could your pcp to give ya other ideas and to oversee the care given to you by other doctors.
I hope that you get better: )
Btw sorry, wanted to comment but i dont have any answers to thyroid questions you have posted.
