multi nodular goiter

My lab work showed  TSH, 3rd generation was 2.16,  T4, Free 1.0.  SED rate 32, Hematocrit 36.1.  I also noticed Urine sample -  Squamous Epithelial Cells 10-20, Bacteria - Moderate, and Hyaline Cast 0-5 were all in bold letering.    I can feel a lump in my throat which is like a pill stuck.  Dr. ordered an ulltrasound which came back as multi-nodular goiter.  The Dr. told me he would check it again in a year that the cysts were small except for one I forget how big he said it was, but he didn't seem concerned.   My concern is that I have been very tired, dry hair/skin, no desire to do the fun things I used to do, forgetful always have cold hands and feet even living in CA.  I was tracking my basil temps. and for about 3 days they were 95.7, 95.4, and 95.6, then the next week they went up to about 96.7, 96.4 but those temps were taken a few minutes after waking up.   When I saw the Dr. yesterday, he lowered my BP med. Benacar from 20 to 10. said thats whats making me so tired.  He also said because I am about 40 lbs over weight my body is just plain tired of carrying the weight.  He then proceeded to encourage me to do a MediFast program that he and his wife are starting in the office next week.  I felt a bit discouraged that he was pushing the MediFast and basically blowing off all my symptems.  Am I wrong or should I seek a 2nd opinion?

Sorry, I saw the FT4 result in your original post - I meant to ask for the reference range, since these vary from lab to lab and must come from your own lab report.

He thinks it's from your weight??  Does he not know that weight gain/inability to lose are more "classic" symptoms of being hypo......... *I* gained 30 pounds in < 3 months prior to my hypo dx............

All of that said --- it seems that your doctor has his own "agenda" to help his bottom line (the MediFast program) --- get another opinion.  Find a doctor who will treat your thyroid issues based on your FT levels and symptoms, not their own protocol....

That's what I thought, but the Dr. Thinks it because of my weight.  He is referring me to ear, nose & throat will he help me or is it just to appease me?

Have you had your Free T3 and Free T4 levels tested?  You have some of the very "classic" symptoms of hypothyroidism.
