Thank you for your respose !! I found the hypoplastic A1 on one of my MRI's and nobody had told me about it and I was just trying to see if this may be the cause of my symptoms above!! BUT...since you mentioned hyperthyroid.....I ALSO found on my CT scan "multinodual Thyroid left lobe"...of course I also found this myself and nobody has told me about that either...so could this be the cause of my heart arhythmias, tachy, bradycardia, anxiety , excessive NE levels, loss of hair, cannot gain weight, auditory noises, heat intolerance, cold intolerance, hypoglycemic events, seizure like episodes (only on right side) profuse sweating during adrenalin dumps, shaky inside and outside of my body, severe sensory overload in all areas of sight, smell, taste touch and hearing.... etc ???? I have been suffering with all this for years and no one has a clue why??
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
What you are hearing is possibly pulsatile tinnitus, where you hear your own pulse. The most common cause of pulsatile tinnitus is noisy blood flow as blood pushes through plaques or kinks in the arteries in the head or neck (especially since you have hypoplastic A1). It can be made worse if there is also hypertension. Several types of fistulas in the blood vessels of head and neck, especially the carotid artery or jugular vein can also cause this.
Increased blood flow as seen in anemia and hyperthyroid state can also cause pulsatile tinnitus. Fluid in middle ear can be another cause. Vascular tumors of middle ear such as glomus tumors or paragangliomas can also cause this.
Please consult an ENT specialist and a vascular specialist for this. You may need angiograms, dopplar studies of vessels of head and neck and may be CT scans of ear. Take care!
Also.....when doing these things....valsalva moves I get a "tight" feeling around my neck like there is a BP cuff around it and it's been pumped up....which also make my head feel tight like a balloon...I get a headache, the "noises" in my ears and feel like I'm choking....any one know?? I can change the noises in my head by moving my head...turning it from side to side....I can also change my heartrates and BP by doing this.....I have tachy and bradycardia, High BP and low BP...at any given time.....
