I’m a 48 year old male. Over the past couple of months I’ve experienced tremors with movement, muscle fatigue/weakness in legs and right arm, and twitches all over my body. I do have a few degenerated discs in upper and lower spine as well as a moderate bulge in the thoracic area.
Today I noticed I can’t make a round circle with my right thumb/finger while holding up my other 3 fingers. To Do this, I have to straighten out my finger while touching my thumb. Otherwise, my other 3 fingers have to curl up to make the circle. My leg muscles from my ankle to the knee feel weak and fatigued while driving, walking, standing, etc. I have never tripped or fallen though.
The twitches are getting worse which scares me the most. I feel them in my legs, buttocks, abdomen, back, arms, and neck. I visited a Neurologist a few weeks ago. He did MRI of head and spine and an EMG which all came back clear. He did a ton of blood work and it all came back normal. I take a multivitamin daily, began taking CoQ10, drink only water and Gatoraide, and began taking magnesium today. My condition has gotten slightly worse since my de visit on 9/25.
Is it possible the EMG test was too soon? Could this still be ALS? If not ALS, what is happening? I am so worried but dr cannot give me a conclusive reason.
