Help !

My 14 year old daughter has been experiencing pain for over 1 year now.  It started in her ankles and progressed upward to include her knees, hips, tailbone,  lower back, spine and now her neck.  It hurts her to touch her back and has many "knotted spots"  her back pain and stiffness is pretty much constant ( almost daily)but varies in level.  It affects what she is able to do ( ie exercise, stairs, tying shoes) Her ankles are about 2-3 days p/wk. Knees and Hips varies.  Her hips feel stiff, uncomfortable and feel like they are going to "pop".  Then they do when walking or something and are then painful.  The hips can sometimes trigger the back. Tailbone pain, seems to have gone away.  She has difficulty falling asleep because of the pain.  And is now diagnosed with clinical depression.  Please help me to understand what is going on, my GP says it is just growing pains !?!?!

my niece suffered from the same exact pains. they were growing pains that originate where the ankles meet the foot, there is a growth plate there that affects girls more than boys. the doctor recommended the midol for teens to help w/that at night. i gave it to her and it helped but did not eliminate the pain. she is 16 now and the pain is gone! your paragraph does sound like an episode of "House" though!

Get a second opinion. She probably has clinical depression from all the pain. Get a second opinion for sure because that sound like Rheumatoid arthritis possibly.

I say find her a new doctor.

That's not normal.. she should be getting tested for a series of things.
