Excessive phlem

I have had an excessive phlegm problem for over six months now. It is a thick elastic like strand that continuously runs from my nasal area down the back of my throat. It sticks there like glue and cannot be coughed out.  Instead I have been using a flashlight and pulling it out with q-tips or a spoon. It is the only way.
I have been to the doctor as I know I have some sort of ear/nose infection.  I was put on antibiotics twice to no avail.  My tonsils are soo swollen all the time and are emitting white stuff as we'll.  I am soo tired of it. I find I spend soo much time in the bathroom trying to clear the phlegm out.
My throat is so sore from scooping it all out .
What is it?

Yep.  I still have it.  But mine comes every other week or so now.  I just mentioned it to another doctor yesterday and he was unmoved.  But since you have other sinus symptoms maybe sinusitis?

So you still have it?
All I know is that it is getting unbearable. It is soo gross and time consuming. The phlegm doesn't stop.  It is definitely connected to my sinus and ears because my ears squeal sometimes when I blow my nose. And well my nose is not draining properly.  I'm also getting food caught up in my nasal cavity.  That is from pulling the mucus out so much that nothing is going the right way anymore.
The mucus collects on the back of my throat like putty and yes mine starts to get a bit of a burning sensation and that's how I know it's time to scoop it out .

Wow, I have the same issue.   I know when mine is "ready" to be pulled out of my mouth, because my throat will start hurting a bit.  And I never have any other sinus symptoms.  When it does come out (sometimes I can cough it out most other times I have to pull it out), it is thick white, like glue, but there is a hard brown component as well.

I started experiencing several otter symptoms and went to doctors based on those.  The phlem only came up once and she said she wasn't concerned.  However I was diagnosed by a different doctor with sinusitis, given antibiotics which didn't help so he told me to stop before I even finished the first run of them.

Try stopping dairy.  You don't have to work very hard at it, reading labels, but just do not drink dairy milk (there are many substitutes, but I would not recommend soy, try hemp or almond),.  Also avoid ice cream and yogurt, sour cream.  Occasional cheese like on pizza is fine.  You are just trying to lower the amount and avoid the big offenders as I mentioned.

Try gargling with warm water with 1/2 tsp of salt and 1/2 tsp of baking soda.  Try drinking hot mint tea.
