Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
There is a possibility that you have internal ear infection. This could be causing referred pain to your scalp area. Since antibiotics helped you, the chances are high that it was ear infection. Consult an ENT specialist.
Another possibility is associated dandruff on your scalp which is a type of fungal infection. Also get your blood pressure checked.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Hi, did you get an answer to your question. I have had this same problem for the last 4 weeks. tenderness and pain on top of my head, on the sides, in the back of myhead and in my ears (or rather inside).
it seems to be there all the time, nothing helps: not rest, not sleep, not tylenol... i saw a general practitioner who prescribed me some antibiotics and it seemed to calm it down for a few days but now it is back again. i saw the ophtalmologist but no problems with eyes. I saw a dentist and there was no issue that would cause such a pain. (she did find cavitites and a need for a thorough cleaning but she does not think that could cause the pain).
I wonder if I should see a neurologist? or a dermatologist? or someone for thyroid? or do an MRI?
