tingling burning pain -water takes away pain

I thought I would give this a try.  Undiagnosed for 8 years.  I have burning/tingling/twitching sensations in my upper back and my calves.  My symptoms are greatly intensified with the touch of clothing. I can only wear nylon/cold feeling clothes  Occassionally I will feel the tingling in sections of my face such as my ear.  There are periods it will decrease in severity, but I cannnot pin point anything that triggers it. My brain does focus on the pain when I am figoursly moving such as playing basketball, running etc.  The amazing thing is that when I am in Water I feel no pain. All sensations are gone.  I have underwent every scan and blood test known to man kind.  I have no back injuries. The drug Lyrica I though worked for 4 months, however I think my body became immuned to it. Currently, I use a TENS unit to help me through the day.  Does anyone else out there have similar symptoms.  I have rarely read similar situations where water helps reduce pain significantly. I am pretty sure it is a nerve problem, yet my neugologists swear it is not.  I read a post earlier describing his pain such as popcorn popping under his skin - I feel the same sensations. I try to stay positive considering i have lived through it for 8 years.

I really appreciate your response.  U must be a doctor of some sort. I received a new TENS unit today which should help. The drug Lyrica helped me for awhile, but I believe my body got immuned to it.  My next step is to go to Pain Managment. I am trying to stretch, exercise, and relax to keep my pain manageable. If I could live my life in water I would be pain free. I looked up many of those conditions/diseases you sent me. I am hoping my docs have checked for all those conditions w/ my many blood tests. Thanks again, Shane
