So sorry to hear of what your son is going thru. I'd like to suggest starting from scratch with a consult or second opinion from a specialist unrelated to his current physicians, preferably not even at the same hospital. Sounds like you need fresh eyes on his case. Are his physicians part of a renowned children's hospital?
I am not a doctor, so please know I am only brainstorming with you. My thoughts are 1)a stone was lodged in a duct that got missed 2) Scar tissue 3) Something didn't heal right 4) Bowel got partially kinked during surgery 5) Foreign body from surgery.
I do hope you'll return and let us know when they find out how to help him.
Hope he feels better! I am a 13 year old girl... athletic, energetic, and popular straight A student just like your son.. I am experiencing a different problem.. But I know what he is going from... I have to sit out the whole cross country season and can't go anywhere by myself... I get episodes at random... where I don't know who I am or where I am. The doctors have tested everything. We have seen the best doctors in my state and are still searching.. My mom also e mailed my teachers to make sure it wasn't depression.. We have been dealing with this for 8 months now. Remember to keep your head up... We will both get through this!
i hope the doctors get to the bottom of this. this just breaks my heart. i will keep him in heart and prayers. i truley hope he feels better soon.

Hypothyroidism can explain his weight loss, fatigue and headaches and relative depression. This condition is, however fairly rare in young male children. Blood tests and checking for abnormal TSF and T4 hormones could rule out that possibility. Good luck with this.
Check your inbox. I sent you a link that may be helpful.
You & your son are in my thoughts & prayers,

Did you know that you can have gallstones outside the gallbladder? Even though his was removed it may be possible some stones were left behind that were sitting outside the organ. Those may be causing his pain.
Has your son seen a Gastro doc yet? Poor guy. We'll be praying for him and for you. Have the doc check for colitis & crohns disease. God Bless
Thanks for the support. I checked with all of his teachers, and friends, and his friends parents, just in case i was missing something. No one mentioned anything. He is a very bright boy, He always gets straight A's, and things come very easily for him. He is athletic, and popular. It kills me to see him withering away right before my eyes, more and more every day. He used to give me super big tight bear hugs, now he can barely let his tummy touch anything cause it hurts so bad. Thanks for the suggestions.
Thank you for your suggestions. they already tested for Celiac disease, and it was negative. We already rules out CFIDS, FMS, and depression. He is a popular, straight A student. I was teaching in his school when this started. He feltlike a superstar because the kids loved being in my class. He felt cool cause the kids liked his mom.(not to sound full of myself sorry) he had nothing happen, at school or home. He has always been a mommas boy, I originally thought it was "mommitis", but even if it is just the 2 of us at home, he doesnt have the energy to play a game, or do legos, or even read a book together. That is not it. I truly think it is something physical, I just do not know what. Thanks again, kjsmoma
P.S --- I would also ask my child's physician to rule out Celiac disease.
If he were my child, I would make an appointment with a physician who can rule out Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome (CFIDS).
i`m very sorry to hear that. i also have a lil boy and i would be devasted if my son would be expiereiencing the same symptoms. have you tried to see if he is maybe depressed about something??? that would cause him to be tired, unexplain pain & aches, and just plain not wanting to do anything. maybe something had happened at school that got him really upset??? i wish you all the best and good luck. i hope you find uot what`s wrong with him and he gets better :)
