something bit me in bed last night

last night something bit me on the back of my calf, I woke from the bite and then it burned for about 15-20 mins. I fell back asleep thinking it was my cat, who has never bit me. Today in the afternoon it started to burn again for about 15-30 mins. I work for a foot Dr and had him glance at it, he saw no rash, and said we'll wait & watch, he barely looked at it. Had the 2 techs I work with look for a entry hole, bite mark and found none. Now there are 2 approx. 5" - streaks running from where it burned down toward my foot.Afraid to go to sleep now.

Thank you, I appreciate your response, I did have a foot/ankle Dr look at it and he stated to just wait and watch for any changes.

I'd suggest calling your doctor's office to ask if they think you should come in. It sounds like you're probably fine, but I wouldn't want to base a decision about whether to seek medical care on "probably" from people on the internet, you know?

Some spider bites can do that.  But streaks can be sign of an infection you should go to your doctor.

Even if there's no visible bite mark, you could have an infection from whatever caused the initial pain. Streaks like that are a common sign of infection. Since you posted 12 hours ago, I'm hoping that you've seen a doctor. If not, you really, really need to; if it's an infection, it obviously has to be stopped so it can't get worse and lead to complications. I hope it's ok!
