Prostatitis --

I have chronic prostatitis. It's at least slightly symptomatic 70% of the time, and I've learned to deal with it 95%. You get used to anything. I pee frequently, and pretty urgently. Usually, ejaculation is accompanied by a heavy feeling afterwards, and I have to pee immediately.

The last week, I've been experiencing a dry ache that's more subtle but more annoying, accompanied by a vastly reduced sense of urgency. No need to pee after sex, no need to pee after every glass of water or soda. It's as if I can't feel my bladder being full, just a tingle at the tip that makes me realize I should go try to pee. And I have no problems doing so when I start.

Anyone experience *this* and have any insight into what might be different? Urinary retention irritating stuff? Maybe a nerve is getting stepped on? Any tips on how to at least swing it back to the symptoms I'm used to? Is it pointless to even ask about 'tips' for maintaining this weird condition?

I had something similar at one point. It was both a sensation that I knew I had to go, but no urgency, and it also caused me to be very aware of this possible need to urinate for much of my time.

I was diagnosed with non-bacterial prostatitis in the summder of 2016 and had this and some fairly wide ranging symptoms (urgency, constant burning pain that shifted, hesitation during urination, golf ball feeling near rectum, urinary tract burning, etc.). Thankfully, those are all gone now.

After realizing my symptoms made no sense in when they came and went, I decided to take a TMS/mind-body approach and treat prostatitis like it was learned pain (similar to phantom limb pain, for example). I'd tried pretty much everything else up until then, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

Sounds insane, I know, but my symptoms largely disappeared in a month or two, and finally disappeared. I've been pain-free over a year now.

Best of luck to you and hope you can find some relief.

Hi how are you? My friend I have gone through the same situation you described and trust me nothing will help and it will stay for at least 6-8 months.

Symptoms are:

1. 2 grey blister will appear inside meatus lips with white circular rings inside. First u feel shiver and pain and fever like u r immunity had been taken away from you.

2. Next 4-5 days a tingling feeling on tip of your penis inside like you feel mentally that you r close to death. Diarrhea and abdominal pain will stay until u r prostate will come on it’ s orignal shapeafter 6-8 months.

3. Urine flow will be less like your urethra is narrow but you r trying harder to empty your bladder. You think you got every std or sti in this world. You want to commit suicide or want to leave and stay somewhere alone. You hate sex and woman because you think woman is responsible for this situation that’s what your mind brigs thoughts.

4. You will feel better slowly but still u r mind will think about std and sti , u r test will get negative but still you feel u should go to doctor again. U will feel pain in between your rectum area and your buttocks have needle like pain pinching inside you. You will feel pain while passing stool.

5. There will be yellow liquid come out from your anus like spermicide coming out from wrong passage. Then again u will stressed out. Your hairline on your biceps, thighs, chest and on your head will have grey round marks and they will get better as your prostate wil try to get into its original shape.

These all were my symptoms and I Had gone through this for last 6 month. I had gone through every std and Sti tests thinking to leave everything and die.

No, no pain. As for straining... a little bit of initial encouragement, I guess.

It's been almost five years since I've seen anyone; as soon as the long weekend is over, I'm going to try to make an appointment.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi.

These new onset symptoms of urinary retention may still be associated with the chronic prostatitis. When was the last time you had been assessed by your urologist. I suggest that you have a follow up consult done so that a prostatic examination be done to rule out any enlargement or swelling. Also, continue to observe your symptoms.

Is there any pain with urination?

Any need to strain during urination?
