Bladder issues after appendectomy?

I (26 M) underwent a laparoscopic appendectomy way back in 2013 after my appendix burst, it was fairly serious - I ended up in the hospital for almost two weeks. Ever since then I've been experiencing bladder/urinary issues that for some reason I've somewhat ignored until recently.

The most common issue is frequent urination, I'm up 3-4 times a night going to the bathroom. Besides that; the feeling of not getting it all out, an intense urge to urinate (can't hold for very long), can't keep a continual stream, and the feeling of needing to go but nothing really comes out (often makes it very difficult to sleep). Just in general I feel like my bladder is incredibly over-sensitive, it really is hard to go out drinking when your constantly getting up and going to the restroom.

Last year I went to both a general practitioner and a urologist, I cleared up a UTI that I had but no medication they gave me seemed to resolved my issues. They left me with the task of changing my diet (soda/coffee) but that hasn't given me any hope. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
