Hi.
Thank you for the response. I should have mentioned that last year, after the high reading my urologist insisted on a biopsy. The biopsy was negative for cancer. Yet, off and on I have symptoms of hesitancy and feeling of urine still in the urethra after going to the bathroom. He says its nothing to worry about and doesnt seem concerned. What do you think?
Hi,
How are you? PSA is normally present in the blood and secreted by the prostrate gland. According to your age it should be below 2.5ng/ml. But this level can raise in case of inflammation of prostrate, BPH, tumors, strenuous exercise, recent ejaculation, instrumentation on the gland and digital rectal examination.
To come to a conclusion PSA index evaluation and digital rectal examination are required. Consult a urologist and get full workup done in this regard.
