Probably about a week or two ago I was laying on my stomach my couch watching TV when I sneezed. When this happened immediately a pain shot through my penis. It didn't bother my testicles, just my penis. Since then I have been experiencing pain in my penis a good portion of the time. During the day I tend not to notice so much, but at night it can bother me a bit. On the pain scale I wouldn't say it ever exceeds a 5 and a 5 is fairly rare. The pain varies. Sometimes it feels like a sore muscle, other times it feels hot, almost as though it's infected, sometimes it feels like a burning, and sometimes there's a pinching type feeling inside at the back of the head (I've had that for years, but very seldom and only when I push on that particular area).. There is no change in appearance, no change in function whatsoever, everything appears and performs perfectly normal in every way, there's just pain. Again, this pain all really began the night I sneezed and has basically been around ever since. (1) Can anyone give me an idea of what this could possibly be and if it sounds at all serious? I understand perfectly well that by my description there is only so much I can be told without an examination and that's fine. (2) I would also like to ask that if it is recommneded I see a Doctor (which I'm honestly terrified of doing, but will if it's suggested) could you let me know what I could expect from a visit? I've read of several different things online and some terrify me (a cystoscopy is a perfect example). (3) If I do see a doctor and they have to do something invasive is there any possibility of being knocked out first? Sorry for all the questions, but I hope you can understand my anxiety pertaining to this particular issue. Thanks for your time and I hope to hear back soon!
Pain in penis when you sneeze due to muscle spasm, nerve irritation, any ureteric stone causing referred pain and due to prostatic inflammation causing prostatitis. The typical symptoms of prostatitis are fever, pelvic, testicle, or rectal pain, frequent and painful urination and ejaculation and incomplete emptying of bladder.
I suggest you to get it examined from a urologist.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
