Healing Distended Bladder

I'm a Quad.  Catheter installed incorrectly left me unable to void for 48 hours / severely distended bladder. Suffering A.D. each time we try to do my bowel program. What should / can be done to expedite healing of bladder?

Hi Higgi,

Sorry for the tardy response. I hope you are still monitoring this site.

I know the pain that comes from a distended bladder. I've experienced it several times... the pain was intense!

I did some research on your question regarding bladder distension and found the following - it's from a trusted site:

Bladder Distension
"The probability of bladder injury varies according to the degree of bladder distention; a full bladder is more susceptible to injury than is an empty one. Management varies from conservative approaches that center on maximizing bladder drainage to major surgical procedures aimed at directly repairing the injury."

So hopefully you are maximizing bladder drainage and an invasive procedure won't be required. How are you doing today?

My Best to You,
