Penis glans raw-extremely sensitive

Hello, I've had this problem for about 3 years. It started in November of 2010, prior to that month I had been over-washing the glans and foreskin area with baby shampoo and hand soap. And on November of 2010 i noticed that the membrane (the stuff that covers the glans) turned white and soggy almost looking like a fungal infection. I washed it off with water and the raw layer underneath is what I was left with. The healthy layer of membrane just fell off and ever since I've been left with the raw layer. In December of 2012 a urologist gave me a very potent steroid to put on it and although in the beginning it did help with some of the itching and the white soggy smegma, dead skin looking stuff, it hasn't brought back the healthy moisture or oils and my first layer of membrane back. And the steroids really dried out everything and caused the foreskin's skin to peel of and become raw. And I'm afraid it caused atrophy of the glans and foreskin and I may never get my healthy layer of skin back!! I only used it for 1 month and that's on and off not everyday.

Now I've had a biopsy taken from the foreskin which is also raw and itchy and it came back as possibly Lichen Sclerosis or some form of Balanitis (probably Plasma cell balanitis---Zoon's Balanitis). How do I get healthy moisture and oils back and how do I get the first layer of Mucous membrane and skin on the foreskin the regenerate and regrow back??? I don't think circumcision would help. Also I think this may be a immune or internal problem so what kind of hard medicine-drugs are available for this kind of problem. And what kind of blood-urine test can be done to help with this problem??

See my response to you in the Dermatology forum (you have posted the same question 3 times).

There are conditions that can not be cured, but can be managed and Lichen is one of those.

If you have been diagnosed with a Lichen problem, then all you can do is manage the condition.  You are not the first person to have this condition, and no doubt will not be the last.

If you are so suicidal, then you must go back to your doctor and explain how you feel.  Lichen problems are not life threatening, just very uncomfortable.  Feeling suicidal is life threatening.

Go to your doctor to seek help for your depression as soon as possible and the correct medications to manage your condition.

Best wishes.

I would try optimizing health by making green smoothies, taking L-glutamine for digestion, a prebiotic.  Digestion and nutrition are connected to skin quality.  Have you tried clear 100% aloe vera?  Perhaps vitamin E cream would help as well.  For soap use Dove sensitive skin formula.  It's unscented, but it smells nice.
