Severe pain in testicles and lower abdomen

Hi

I hope I'm posting in there right place because I'm worried and the pain I'm having is becoming unbearable.

For the past 2 or 3 weeks I was having a burning sensation when urinating, around the same time I also developed a pain in my testicles and lower abdomen. On Monday of this week I went to have an STD test because I have had a few sexual partners over the last months.

I was given Doxycycline to take because of my symptoms but my results were all negative. I have since stopped taking doxycycline because I have no idea what I actually have.  The burning sensation during urination has sub sided but the pain in my testicles and lower abdomen is unbearable even with painkillers.

Should I finish taking doxycycline even though I've no idea what I have?

Should I visit an emergency A&E as soon as possible or wait for a doctor's appointment?

Does anyone know what could be wrong with me?

My results for my ultrasound came back normal.

If it was epididymo orchitis would the ultrasound have detected it?

I've booked to see my doctor so he can refer me to a urologist as I'm still getting the burning during urination.

Am I safe to have sex without the fear of passing anything on? Seeing as how my STD test was negative and my urine cultures didn't detect anything.

I've booked to see my doctor againsohecan

Definitely see a urologist.  Prostatitis is an inflammation of the prostate.  Difficult to treat, and it takes time to go away.  You should have a PSA test done (a simple blood test) to see if your PSA is elevated.  If it is, that's one of the signs of prostatitis.  Can you have sex.  All you want.  Ejaculating is helpful as it relieves congestion.  I' have flare ups every 5 years or so.  My second kid was conceived during one of my flare ups.  It may be uncomfortable, but all systems continue to work.

I haven't been reffered to a urologist yet, no. I'll be sure to mention it when I get my results of my scan, unless my doctor refers me anyway.

Have you seen a urologist?  Your symptoms sound like prostatitis.  If so, doxycycline or preferably, Cipro should help.  But be prepared to take the antibiotic for six weeks.

Hi doctors

I went for an ultrasound yesterday and the results should be due back to my doctor soon. The person doing the ultrasound told me he didn't notice anything unusual.

I'm now only getting pain after I lift heavy objects. I'm still getting the burning sensation during urination.

Do you think it's safe to have sex if I'm having the burning during urination still? I've had 2 urine tests and nothing has been found but I'm yet to speak to a urologist.

Hi

I'm having an ultrasound in a few weeks. At the moment I'm not having much pain but I do when I ejeculate. If I had epididymo orchitis wouldn't it have been detected when I had the urine test at the std clinic or the hospital?. If It's not epididymo orchitis what would you say it could be?

Is it safe continue masturbating even if I have pain afterwards?

I went to the Emergency Room today and told the doctor my symptoms. They seemed think it was either due to something heavy I lifted at work (which did happen) or some flare up from a cyst I have or past NGU I had a few months ago . I was given codeine to take for pain relief and advised that the pain should go away in time and I could see my GP to have a referral to a urologist.

I left the hospital still not knowing what is wrong with me. I have since masturbated twice which produces a dull ache in my lower abdomen. I'm afraid to have sex again for fear I will pass something on.

But I agree with the suggestion to visit your local hospital (eg. the Emergency Room), as your symptoms may require urgent medical attention.

I urge that you follow your medication's instructions.  If you've questions about that, ask your doctor.

This might be epididymo orchitis and you should be in hospital and on IV antibiotics.
