Small bump on the right testicle

Hello, all

It has been 8-9 years that I've known about this small bump on the right testicle. I've found out about it when my friend kicked me, 'accidentally' in the scrotum.  That is how I discovered the small bump and has been on my mind ever since.

I am 20 years old now and I've always wanted to ask what a Urologist opinion is on this matter.   Throughout many self-examinations, the size of the bump never changed, its position always remained the same.  Does this mean it's a cyst or benign? (don't know if those 2 mean the same thing.)  Also there is nothing abnormal around the scrotum.

There are time I think to much about it and read online about Testicular Cancer it just makes me sick. I just want to put my mind at ease on this ordeal.

PS:  I've also seen my family doctor about this when I was in my early teens. I don't remember when but I am going to see him again soon concerning this because I don't remember what the results were.  What he did was examined me and sent me to get an ultra-sound and that's the end of it.

Thank you for your time, and for addressing my concerns.

Yours Sincerely,

Michael

Hi,
There are 2 possibilities of cysts which are likely to be the diagnosis.
A spermatocele which is a cyst of the epididymis containing sperms. These are similar to epididymal cysts except that these are connected to the testicle and the swelling is filled with cloudy fluid containing many sperms and similar cells.
Epididymal cysts are fluid filled cysts that arise from outflow ducts that leave the top part of the testicle in the part of the testicle called the epididymis. They may occur at any age and when small are best left alone. Epididymal cysts are filled with clear fluid and are not associated with cancer. It is usually possible to distinguish an epididymal cyst by careful examination and they can be felt as separate round swellings above or sometimes behind the testicle.
An Ultrasound of the testes helps in making the diagnosis.
Since both conditions are benign and hence I think you need not worry much about them.
I sincerely hope that helps. Please do keep me posted. Kind regards.
