Urine pain

At first I was diagnosed with a UTI and was giving meds for this, most of the symptoms have gone away, but then I had burning when I peed or after I wiped, I went back to a doc and he gave me meds for this, it has been two day`s now and I still have the same discomfort, I know it`s only two day`s but how long till the symptoms go away? I was giving meds for the pain and that don`t work any more, it did work now it don`t, also how long does it take for this to go away? I did have only the burning but no odor or irritation, just burn when and after I go, so can by chance could it be something else? Oh and he did give me a pill for oral thrush which I still have some of, so I wonder what else if anything could all this be? I have also has a sore throat as well, which he said was a cold, but I only have a sore throat, so I don`t know, does this go with all this? I am also experiencing some middle back pain and lower pelvic pain. I don`t suspect a STD cause I have had same partner for 10 years and my husband has only been with me. Any answers would be great. Thank you

I did go back to another doctor.. GYN and did test for a UTI, after being off meds. He did say that I didn`t have a UTI and more and he did some test to see if I have an Infection like Yeast or BV and he said I didn`t have those either. He said I was just irritation, and to use some  Cortisone 10  on that area for 7 days and it should clear up. I have done this and I still have problems, mainly  burning when and after I go. Since all of the  test have ruled out infection that I am lost as to what is going on and very confused since I have been to several doctors and they all say something different.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If there is burning before and after urination, it can be due to fungal infection. It can also be due to UTI by bacteria. You can stop the antibiotics for 72 hours after consulting your doctor. Give your urine for culture and sensitivity in a sterile bottle. This will tell you what organism is causing the infection and what antibiotic will kill it permanently. Under antibiotic cover at times the culture is negative. Please do not take any antibiotic without this test because if the organism is not sensitive to the antibiotic, it will only sit quietly for some time and then flare up again. Meanwhile you can drink plenty of fluids and cranberry juice or apple cider. Also a vaginal swab should be tested for infection.
Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
