Visible artery on penile shaft

I have a visible penile artery, starting on top of the base of the shaft, gradually running along the side of my penile shaft to the glans. I can feel it pounding only in the erect state. It's only on the right side. Is it the dorsal artery that doesn't run straight on top, or is it just a more prominent branching-off artery? And do you think that's normal?

Does it hurt? That does sound like the dorsel vein.
