Unbearable bone pain: Tests to ask for

Hi everyone,

I will save you the long version but my symptoms are as follow:
-Deep, throbbing pain radiating from the bones in my limbs
-Join soreness and instability
-Muscle Cramps
-Heart arrhythmia
-Sleep disturbance
-Mood disturbance

My life has degenerated to the point that I am utterly desperate.  Everything is affected from my mood to my marriage and I don't know what to do.  Unfortunately, I am yet another victim of Canada's second-rate public healthcare system and, after my GP was unable to help me, I was placed on a 10-14 month wait list to see a specialist.  I should get in sometime around Fall 2015 but I can't wait anymore.  I've been reading anything and everything I can and have started to suspect Vitamin D deficiency is part of my problem.  I started taking 10,000 IU per day and 50,000 IU once weekly about two months ago.  My pain persists and is only slightly improved.

On Friday I am marching into my doctor's office and demanding every test necessary to determine my problem.  I know I need my vitamin D levels checked but what other tests should I be asking for.  Some online sources suggest getting thyroid function checked.  Please offer your suggestions for what tests I should ask my doctor for.

Thank you!

Sorry to hear that I've been struggleing with this low vitamin d roller coaster ride for over 5 months already . I've had all the systems that you have mentioned I've been taking 2,000 iu a day and 50,000 iu once a week.It gets better you just have to hang in there easier said than done.

Forgot to add: I have been taking 1000mg calcium (citrate/chelate/carbonate complex) and 500mg Magnesium (citrate/aspartate/glycinate complex) each day as well applying magnesium oil to my skin once or twice daily.  Epsom salt bath offer amazing relief and I would be taking 2 per day if I had a bathtub (such a strange problem to have).  Relief seems to last about 2 hours after a bath.
Should I be getting other vitamin levels checked?
I take a Vitacost Synergy ultra-premium multivitamin each day made with the most bioavailable forms of each vitamin.

Thanks for the encouragement.  Good to know it keeps improving.  After 2 months I was afraid I'd hit a dead-end
