6 week makeover?

Anyone tried the michael Thurmond 6 week body makeover?  I'd love to hear if it worked?

I have been on the 6wbmo.... it is a very good program, I started november '06 to march of '07 i lost 65 lbs. ..... but I did not do the living lean part and put it all back on and then some. But I am going back on it today in fact. .... I expect a reasonable weight loss. I plan on loosing at least 20 lbs in the first 6 weeks (I cheat a lot) you eat 6 meals a day based on you body type. they do allow 6 payment with the shipping on the first payment. If you call just tell the operater no to everyhing (the operator has to read you all the offers, the operator is not suppost to skip over anything so just say no to each offer, the cook book is pretty good but you can pick that up later)

OMG I just did the questionnaire and the pic that it showed in the success story for my body type looks just like my body shape.  That has never happened the things always mess mine up.  Scary!!  I gotta have this!! LOL I think that I will be ordering this probly by September I gotta work it into my BUDGET Oh man that word should be bleeped out it should be considered up there with those 4 letter words LOL

I had never heard of this program till I read your post. I am intrigued by the web site and although sceptical about any program promising 30lb loss in 6 weeks I was interested in what their online free questionair said about my body type. tis is what it said and I have to say a lot of it makes good sense......I too would be interestd to hear if anyone has done the program.


As a Body Type E, your body has trouble building and maintaining lean muscle. Muscle is the primary component of your body that burns calories. The fact that your body has less lean muscle tissue means it can't burn as many calories. Plus, despite the fact that your overall metabolic rate is not as slow as several of the other body types, your metabolism is still not fast enough to keep you lean. The speed of your metabolism is the primary consideration in how your body gains or loses weight. The good news is: This plan will cause your body to gain and retain lean muscle and speed up your overall metabolism at the same time. By increasing your metabolic rate in two ways you can start shedding pounds and reshaping your body very quickly. Once you start eating according to your Custom Eating Plan, you'll begin to increase your metabolic rate and start losing pounds and inches faster than you ever thought possible.


Your Customized Eating Plan will use foods specifically chosen to work with your body chemistry in an accelerated eating schedule to "jumpstart" your metabolism while causing you to add to and maintain your lean muscle. For you, under eating can be as big a problem as over eating. If you don’t eat enough protein and "complex" carbs, your body will start to become catabolic and actually start consuming muscle tissue as fuel. The more muscle tissue you lose the harder it is for your body to burn fat. Red meat, which contains compounds that help your body build and maintain lean muscle, is one of the best proteins for your specific body type. As a Body Type E, you can also tolerate a wider range and greater quantity of carbs than the other groups, but you should still stay away from very "simple" carbs like grapes and cherries, fruit juices and processed grains in bread and pasta which can slow your metabolism down. By eating the right combination of foods for your Body Type, you’ll be able to stop starving, start eating more and lose body fat faster than you ever thought possible.


As a Body Type E, your body is the combination of two basic physiological types with nearly opposite tendencies: 1) an "ectomorph," which is a very skinny Body Type with very little muscle and very fast metabolism, and 2) an "endomorph," which is a very heavy body with soft, loose flesh and a tendency for easy weight gain. Even though this Body Type may seem contradictory, it is a very common combination. In very simple terms, you're a very thin, even "skinny," person with a bunch of extra "endomorphic" flesh hanging on the surface.

Fortunately for you the ectomorph, or "skinny" Body Type, is dominant. That means your metabolism has the ability to move very fast. You were most likely thin for much of your life and could eat "anything you wanted" without gaining a pound. Like most, you hit your mid-30's or had a child, your metabolism slowed and you started gaining weight. Or like some Body Type E's, much of your body can still be very thin with "skinny" arms or legs but significant amounts of unwanted flab around the waist, buns, breasts or top of the arms.

The basic problem is that even though you have "ectomorphic" qualities, which normally tend to keep the metabolism moving fast (and helps keep you thin), for various reasons yours isn't fast enough to keep the weight off. And since your body doesn't maintain "fat-burning" muscle tissue well, your body simply can't burn enough calories to keep you from gaining weight.

As a Body Type E, the best way to speed up you metabolism is to: 1) Preserve your body’s lean muscle mass and perhaps increase it; and 2) Begin following an eating plan that is customized to your specific Body Type that will show you how to use the right foods, in the right combinations, in the right amounts, and at the right time of day to force your metabolism to run faster so your body burns more of the food you feed it as fuel and stores less as fat. Once that happens, weight loss happens quickly and naturally
