Hi there :)

Are you doing physical therapy for your neck?  I would ask your PT which exercises will be ok for you during your recovery.

Also, are you keeping any type of food journal?  I find this helps me a LOT.  I recommend livestrong.com's "the daily plate".  It is awesome for food/exercise journaling!

The walking is definitely good.  Do see if you can hasten the pace.  And, look at what you are eating.  Protein at every meal and the replacement of white carbs with whole grain carbs will do a lot to help you curb your appetitie and keep you full longer.  The addition of low fat milk products can help too or a handful of nuts.  Good luck and congrats on trying so hard in a tough situation.
