Back to the gym yesterday and proud :-)
Smaller dinner plates is a great idea. Think I might invest in shallower bowls too, needing to replace them anyway.
My gym's pool closed for 3 weeks over Xmas holidays, anyone know of a good way to keep active in 100 degree weather? I mean it's almost 9pm and still in the 90's. :/
Eating about 1400 cal a Day mostly fish and green salad some times chicken walking about an hour a day and 30 min stationery cycling . eating fresh fruit instead of sweets drinking green tea .
Have taken peoples' suggestions into account and feeling pretty good this week. I've been eating slowly and going to bed not completely full after dinner. I've also purchased smaller sized plates and i use those to make sure I'm not plopping a huge portion onto my plate!
I have not yet been back to the gym but getting ready for Christmas is taking up all my time. I waited until the last minute, whoops. I am hoping to get back to it on Monday. I have the day off.
Good luck to everyone during the Holiday...will be hard not to guzzle down treats but I will try!
Why some of you coming up with numbers like losing 25-30 kg. we put on weight gradually and it won't go away over night. We need to change out eating habits gradually if we try something sudden body reacts and it will adjust to new diet regime. The best tip Id like to share is stop eating with little bit hunger- it takes a while for stomach to communicate with the brain that I am full now stop eying by that time we fill overselves too much! I have started to change my habits slowly and with exercise i have lost 3 kg in 4 weeks. Good luck everyone.

now it is a week that I am started and I lost 1.5 kg about 3.31 pound I am happy :)

I can only say try to get in more workouts even if they are only 30 mins. Take the stairs... Weight loss can be a little slow at first too while your body catches up :-)
Am also trying to lose weight so best of luck to all of us!
Lovely. Well I guess I still can hope, nothing left to loose but the weight. Worst case scenario she'll tell me I'm doing everything right...
i work at a peds office, and we do have a dietitian there, from the families that i spoke with it didn't really benefit them.
i try to loss weight, and i can get to about a lb a week, and get discouraged because it is so slow!
I've been trying to lower my caloric intake from 1540 to 1430, but besides that I feel a little lost. (I already can't eat red meats, eggs, dairy, fatty foods, high acidity or high sugars- so I don't know what else to do.) 1lb/ week seems slow. :/
Has anyone ever benefited from seeing a dietician? My doctor referred me to one, but she won't see me till the end of January.
I count every thing I eat and any thing I do with "diet diary " program my average calories intake are about 1400 and my walking and biking calories about 1100 I try to keep this balance. the program calculated i will be 110 about 4 week later. and for me it will be glorious . :)

I think we are all pretty much in the same boat here, so we try to join forces and help each other.
Maybe you could both let us know what type of diet you are trying, along with what exercise you do, and we can try to help you along.
I am male about 32 , big bone, about 180 cm , lightly active
it is almost week that I am started , my diet is a balanced I think low carbohydrate diet about 1400 cal a day , I cycle about 30 minute , go to work on foot and it takes 40 minute , if you interested I am about 120kg about a week ago , on Dec 20 I will tell you what will be my weight .
I think we are in the same page I want to lose 20 kg too .
You can count me in, I want to loose about 30 kgs and I NEED to loose at least 25.
