Sunday Weigh In - July 3, 2022

Good morning.  Wow - here we are starting another month already.  This year seems to be flying by so quickly - or is it just me?  Anyway, I hope everyone is having a wonderful Holiday weekend.

My weekend hasn't been so fun - during Friday night, I had horrible acid reflux (nothing unusual there) and yesterday morning, I woke up with every bone/muscle in my body screaming in pain.  My hands were so swollen and weak, I was unable to make a fist and almost dropped my coffee pot when I went to pour a cup.  Although my whole body was in pain, I think the worst was the unrelenting headache I had.  Sometimes, it hurt so badly, I couldn't see straight.  I spend most of the day, either, in bed or moving from the bed to sofa, to the recliner, back to bed, trying to find a comfortable spot.

I took as much Tylenol for pain yesterday as I dared take and doubled up on the medication I take for fluid retention (doctor said I could, when needed).  Fortunately, this morning, I can make a fist, though my hands still hurt quite a bit.  Best of all is that the headache has eased off and I can walk without feeling like my head is going to explode.

I haven't weighed because I'm still quite swollen, so I know that the scale won't show an accurate weight, under the circumstances.

So that's my holiday weekend.  I hope yours is going much better and that you've been able to meet whatever goal(s) you set for yourself over the past week.

~~Wishing everyone a wonderful, successful week~~

**Stay safe and wash your hands**

I was planning to test for COVID today, if I wasn't feeling any better as I know that testing too soon can cause false negative.  Since I've been pretty much back to normal today (other than being tired, which seems to be the story of my life.  I might still go ahead and test just to make sure.

You've done really well getting your goal and staying there.  It's hard to say what will happen when all the activity is removed from daily life.  Have you considered daily walks, or other types of on-going exercise to help keep everything where it is?

I'm sorry to hear about your son's cat.  I'm sure he's upset about its disappearance.  Of course, it is always possible that it could show up.   Have you contacted vet's offices in the area from which she disappeared?   If you belong to Nextdoor, you could also consider putting a notice there and check with any animal shelters in the area.  It's not easy to think of never seeing a pet again and  I do hope the cat shows up soon.

Isn't it amazing how different paint can look in different light?   I very much dislike painting, so I'd certainly vote for not doing it over, if it were my walls.  LOL

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Barb, did you test for Covid? The body weakness doesn't sound like the most common symptom, but the headache is totally how it manifested for me when I had Omicron BA-2.

I'm down about .4 of a pound from last week, but since yesterday I was up about .2 of a pound, that just means my weight is bouncing around a little. Since it's all in my goal-weight 5-lb.zone, that seems OK as long as it doesn't bounce up and stay up. Still doing a lot of physical work, with painting the kitchen and and schlepping stuff around. My concern is what happens when I don't have so much exercise built in by my activities.

My son's cat is still missing, it's been two weeks. She has a microchip, but isn't friendly to strangers -- if she is just lost, she might stay lost a while. There's also the chance of predation, or having gotten hit by a car and dragged herself away to an unseen spot. We haven't entirely lost hope of hearing from a vet or a humane organization that she has been found, but as time ticks by, we're starting to have to face the fact that we might just never see her again.

I painted two walls and some trim areas in our laundry room last night. Under artificial light, the paint is an interesting, subtle, pale tint. This morning in natural light, it just looks like plain white. Hmph. (Do I want to do it over? Not much! lol)

Have a great holiday week!
