Tomatoes

Not sure if this is the right forum to ask but, I was going to make tomato sauce (w/grape tomatoes) Does anyone know if you can freeze them to keep them from going bad?

I already put them in the oven for about 20min and then got a call from my fiance that I don't need to cook that he had food for me...........so I figured I would just store the tomatoes until tomorrow, but they are already sliced and I know if I put them in the fridge they will most likely go bad by tomorrow

Any suggestions?????

Since you have already cooked them I can't see why putting them in the fridge for a day will hurt.

I've read that tomatoes can be frozen for up to about a month or so.  BUT - make sure they are FROZEN and not just refrigerated; and once thawed they must be used immediately.

Sure, if you're just making sauce with them there should be no problem freezing them. They just lose their texture and shape when frozen, so don't try eating them whole.

I think they need to be at least pureed. If you have an extension office or agriculture office, they should be able to tell you.
