The smoothies sound awesome; like a great breakfast or snack idea.
I can't say I'd recommend eating veggies and meats only "about every three days". Those foods have lots of vitamins, minerals and proteins that your body needs to live on.
I do advocate eliminating refined sugar, flour, white rice, etc; however, carbs are important "energy makers", so aim for the complex ones that take longer to break down, such as veggies, whole grains, etc.
When deciding on a weight loss plan, make sure you come up with one that actually involves "life style" changes (things you can stick with from now on), otherwise, you are very likely to gain back all, maybe more, of the weight you lost.
And don't forget exercise; it keeps you healthy and strong, too.
thank you , I will give it a shot.
Three months ago I was 65 lbs overweight and was still climbing. I'm 59 yr.'s old and was fed up with dieting on and off all my life and going through the yo-yo effect. I had quit trying. My 30 yr. old son came over to help me one day while I was really sick. He went grocery shopping for me and came home with the following: One new, good blender; two large buckets of low fat yogurts (1 plain and 1 Vanilla); About ten bananas, a guava, kiwi. lg. basket of raspberries, blueberries and two big strawberries containers. Then he pulled out about 5 different bottles of natural fruit nectar drinks that were carefully matched with the fresh fruits. My favorite became a combo of strawberry and banana drink mix I think by Dole. The drinks were not low fat, but contained real fruit nectar and other stuff to lighten up the thickness. He then announced to me that I needed to get healthier and if I drank the smoothies he was going to teach me to make at least twice a day my health would improve overnight. I was intrigued, but upset that he didn't buy me my needed groceries. The first smoothie was bananas, strawberries a big cup of plain yogurt and the liquid drink poured into the blender that went with the fruits used. It was so sweet and good that I drank the whole pitcher he made from about 2:30 P,M up till bedtime. Next day, with only fruit around, I made my own made up smoothie and started and ended my day with them. In one week my huge pants began to slip off my hips. I had dropped a dress size by accident. The next week I made sure to eat vegetables and some meat about every three days,. but I cut out all breads and carbs and sweets. I drank gallons of these smoothies in the beginning days and weeks. Within four weeks I had dropped three dress sizes, my complexion glowed and I felt great. Now, I love my daily smoothies and the weight I've lost without even really dieting has been 35 lbs in three months, dropped 4.5 dress sizes and have even gained back a couple at the holidays which came right off when I went back to my smoothies. Try it, it works and taste great too. Let me know in two weeks what it has done for you. Ginbud
