Hi! So glad you are here. Besides the great ideas already given to you, just coming here and having the support of others is HUGE!!! We can pick you up when you're down and you can encourage us when we're down - it's proven to help to have people hold us accountable, but you've gotta want it!
So, don't underestimate the weight tracker AND the food journal. Start small and go from there. Move a little each day - even if it's only 10 minutes. Then, the next week, move for 15 minutes each day. Pretty soon, you'll be in the habit of it. The best scenario would be for you to get in 2 or 3 10-minute sessions as many days of the week as you can. It really works and you probably have the time to do THAT!
Good luck and keep comin' back!
I can also relate.. I'm 22 years old and weigh 183.4 lbs right now. But just 2 days ago I weighed 185lbs. All it takes is that first step to set yourself on the right path! I agree with what the previous poster stated about having your weight loss tracker set up, that is a good first step! Now just write down what goals you have for yourself. Like how much weight do you want to lose? If you drink pop, do you want to quit or cut back? Search online for some easy exercises you can do at home such as situps/crunches, aerobics/cardio, or even go running or walking! I keep several different trackers on my page.. I have the weight, exercise, water intake and mood trackers set up and I update them daily! (except the weight tracker, I think I'll try to do that one once a week). I also write daily journal posts about what I eat, what exercises I do, and anything else I think might help! Just keep in mind why you want to do this, and always know that you CAN do anything if you set your mind to it! Plus you have found one of the greatest sites every when it comes to support! I absolutely LOVE it here! I wish you the best of luck, and I hope you achieve your goals! =]
I can relate to being the big one in a group. I've often been the biggest person in the room, etc. But you have a great attitude that you still know you are pretty!
I see you have a weight tracker set up, that is a great place to start. You can also add an exercise tracker and start recording all of your workouts.
Lots of people have success with food journals, writing down what and how much they eat. Drinking lots of water, setting realistic goals, and coming here for other tips and support are all good first steps.
Wanting more energy to give back more to your community is a great goal. Are there any particular causes to which you are drawn?
