Getting Concerned...

Ok Monday I had a stomach virus (i think), kept no food in my system until the night time which was tea and tea cookies. I weighed myself Monday morning before I got sick I lost.5lbs (thats great!!). Tuesday morning after breakfast I weighed in at 290.5 (3.5 down) from monday. I have no appittate still, but I am tyring to eat what I can. I weighed myself again last night when I got home and it was down 286.5 (4lbs) from Tuesday. Is that possible?!?! I feel fine, except very tired and slight nausea. I'm eating some grapes now, but can't seem to get the muffin I brought to work in my stomach. Any ideas as to what I can try to eat that will give my body nutrients, but not make me sick? Im getting worried now, I mean I am eating all three meals but very little of it.

Thanks

I had a bad reaction to a certain antibiotic years ago that caused symptoms similar to those of a stomach virus.  I dropped about 20 lbs in less than two weeks, and was sick as a dog!

I agree with G.T.D.I., keep hydrated as best you can.

There are nutrition replacement drinks, I think a popular one is called "Ensure."  I'm not sure how gentle they'd be on the stomach, but they have balanced nutrition in little cans.  It's stocked at most grocery and drug stores by me, maybe worth a try?

I hope you get better soone!

My daughter had a sickness bug fo 24 hours -  and then no appetite for 6 days -  she lost 5lb and she is only 4 years old...

Best thing to do is drink a lot of water to keep hydrated -  an snack on fruit and raw veggies if you like them... build up your vitamins naturally without filling up on hard to process food.

Listen to your body and eat when you are hungry the lack of appetite is your bodys natural deffense after a sickness bug.....

Most of what you lost will be fluid so expect to put a little of itback on -  but when your appetite returns jsut be sensible and it will come back off in no time :) x
