I'm exactly the same weight as last week, down to the tenth of a pound (if my digital scale can be believed. I think it gives the illusion of precision more than actual precision.) I looked my weight notes for the past four Sundays, and they don't vary a lot -- the changes have been just in the tenths of a pound. I wonder if I'm at my new winter weight. It's not bad, it's two or even three pounds less than I was at my plumpest this past few months, but if I could plateau about four pounds less, I'd be glad. This strengthens my resolve to stop eating things that really I shouldn't eat.
It's been rainy, not unusual for this part of Oregon in fall, though we often have a beautiful Indian summer in late October. It hasn't rained on Halloween but once in ten years, although when I was a kid, it ALWAYS did. Not this year! I'm sure it will be a wet one.
We close on the new house on Monday, which sets the clock ticking for selling the house next to our son's old middle school where we are now. It will go up for sale first week of January. Luckily, there are only small things to do to get it ready (such as, painting the front door and washing the carpets) so getting it ready doesn't fill me with anxiety. (If we were selling the farm, loaded with so many years of crapola and needing repairs, I'd be stressing already.) New house will have the old owners still living in it for 45 days as part of the deal when we negotiated the sale, so any tasks for it will wait. Right now, I'm just making plans. I'd like the move the washer and dryer there, from a little space right off the kitchen where they are presently. The kitchen needs a pantry much more than the house needs a laundry room off the kitchen. I explained some of my decorating and design ideas for the new house to my husband and he was amazed, hadn't thought of any of it and liked it all, so I guess I have a free hand. It's good to have 45 days, because even if I wanted to schedule all the jobbers sooner, everyone is busy. We'll need to put in a fence for the dogs, and the fence guy couldn't get to us until January 4.
Now that all the frantic-ness of the house hunt and negotiation are over, I think it's time for me to sort a bunch of paperwork and begin to do some early packing up. Hope everyone has a more interesting week than that!
