your body is subject to the laws of physics, IF you don't have any underlying medical issues, such as problems with your thyroid, etc., the post Barb135 posted may be helpful. also, like beefree mentioned, don't overestimate how much your burning during your exercise. i also used to exercise everyday and NEVER lost any weight, however i wasn't changing my eating habits either, in fact they may have gotten worse, i mean i did exercise so it wont hurt if i eat mcdonalds on the way home will it???

another great tip is to keep a food journal. when i tried eating healthy and cut out junk food i still didn't lose weight. when i started keeping a food journal, i realized i wasnt really eating as healthy as i thought. and some foods my portion sizes were 2-3 servings, so i would watch for that also. it has taken me a little while to get used to normal portion sizes. also read food labels, some foods that you think are healthy really aren't all that healthy. cereals for example, many people believe that its healthy, but many cereals are heavy on the sugars and other not so healthy stuff for you. there are some brands that are healthy, but in my opinion taste like carboard, so i have other stuff for breakfast. some yogurt, fruit, hard boiled egg etc. i have a hard time eating a lot in the morning so i break it up. have a small part of breakfast at home than a little while later i work have a bit more

and my next point is that several small meals during the day are better than large meals, that way your body has time to break it down and burn it off, when you consume a large amount of calories in one meal, more of it is likely to be stored as fat. I have been going to a weight loss center and seeing a nutritionist and i keep everything i eat in my food diary then i go through it with a nutritionist and we look at my diet and areas where i can improve and where i'm doing good in. i hate breaking my diet because i know my nutritionist is going to see it, it holds me accountable. i have lost 34 pounds as of this morning since mid october, just by making these changes. i also used to NEVER be able to lose weight, despite trying everything. and i realize now because i was doing fad diets and excepted to lose weight without really changing my life style. but i also have no medical issues preventing me from losing. i would consult with your dr if you feel like you may have one. good luck.

Everything that BeeFree said is true, however, there are those of us for whom even following the rules, doesn't work well.  I've been at the point where I literally starved myself and still gained weight......... the following post might be helpful.

Hi there,

Congrats for trying to get healthier! It's the best decision a person can make for themselves. You won't regret it. :-)
If you are relatively new to weight loss methods, it'll be helpful for you to know how the body works when it comes to diet and activity.
Everything you eat has calories, which is energy. If you're eating more food than your body needs during the day, then it will store the extra calories/energy as fat. If you continue to eat more than you need, your body will continue to store, and this is how you gain weight.
If you want to lose weight you must burn the extra fat your body has stored. Any form of activity-- walking, jogging, stairclimbing, running on the elliptical trainer are all great forms of cardio exercise, which burns calories and revs up your metabolism so your body continues to burn calories more quickly for the rest of the day.
Be sure not to overestimate how much you are burning during exercise. The biggest mistake people make is doing a 30-minute workout, and then ruining it by eating twice as much for dinner, or indulging in a slice of cake. You won't see results this way.
If you combine daily activity with a decrease in calorie intake, and replace those fattening foods with foods your body would rather (such as lean protein, fruits and veggies) you will lose weight.
If you really want this, you've got to find good motivation. What is it you want? To feel better about yourself? To feel a greater sense of wellbeing? To have more energy? To fit into the clothes you used to? Write down what it is you are striving for and keep little reminders around to keep you motivated.
Make it fun! Get support from friends and family. Get a walking buddy.
Limit your white sugars and white bread (until you can cut it out completely) and replace them with healthier alternatives like Stevia and whole grains.
Once you start seeing results you will be all the more excited and this will keep you going strong.

All the best!
