I'm 12 days late on my period.

I am not a virgin, but since my last period I didn't have intercour. About a week ago I went to the gynecologist for a check up, and he told me my period would be there in about 7 days. But I'm around 12 days late and I don't know why or what to do?

Sometimes periods are just late, or even skip a month. Eating/sleeping poorly or stressing a lot might be the reason. Either way, it's nothing to worry about unless your period continues to be irregular consistently even after it comes back! Just keep an eye on it, but don't fret over it. Sometimes that just happens.
