If this was your first yeast infection then I would have gone to the doctors to confirm because it could be bacteria vaginosis which can have the same symptoms but is treated with an antibiotic.

That being said it is possible you are having a reaction to the monistat. I cant use that only canestan because it does something to me. I almost brought myself to the ER the time I used it because the burning wouldn't stop. This has been common with a lot of women however there are alot of women that use it with no side effects

Hi kriskidd,

I just finished reading your comments. Any problem in the genital area, say
we say, I always go to my family doctor. She then makes a diagnosis.
I've had the occasional genital problem. My advice is to do the same.
When it comes to problems in the vaginal area, it's always advisiable to
see your family doctor. It's not advisable to self diagnose and try and
treat it yourself.. In your case, I would make an appointment as soon as
possible with your family doctor. As tabit414 commented, you could be
having a reaction to the medicine or maybe it wasn't a yeast infection at
all. In cases of a yeast infection, it always better to choose the 7 day
Monistat not the one day. One day isn't nearly enough. Anyway, I strongly
advise you to make that appointment with your family doctor asap. Eve
