Did you ever figure out what the cause was? I'm 18, sexually active, and very scared. The same thing just happened to me. Except, I think it might be that I jumped onto my best friend's cycle. I don't know...I'm just scared completely now. Hmpf.
I had an eating disorder, and I'm wondering if maybe this has had an effect on me. Maybe I'm going through menopause early. Or maybe I'm the "p" word. :( :( :( :( :( Please respond. Email me. ***@****

I think I am going to wait it out and see what happens.

You can wait it out a month or so and see if your periods return to normal.  Stress can cause you periods to screw up.  If it is still going on after that, a trip to your gyno is probably needed.

It might be a good idea to go ahead and see your doctor. If you haven't changed your birth control then I'm stumped as to why you're having bleeding outside of a period. You're certainly too young for menopause! Talk to your doctor and let us know how you're doing. Best wishes.

Have you recently started a new birth control? That can cause break through bleeding like that.

Hi,  I just had exactly the same problem and I am scared too.  I'm not sure whether to wait it out and see if it happens again or go to the doc.  I'm not sure she can examine me right now.  The description of your period is also exactly like mine.  I am 43.
