endometriosis and liver

I was diagnosed with stage 4 endo 12 years ago. After many different treatments I opted for a total hysterectomy aged 36 had no children and was told before this that I probably had a 5% chance of conceiving through IVF. Although I don't get the horrible period pains I am still in almost permanent pain from what I was told were probably adhesions and I've pretty much been left for the past 10 years to cope on my own. I've started to get right upper abdominal pain which we thought were gallstones but it turns out to be fatty liver and lesions which have to be investigated incase its something nasty. I was just wondering if this could have anything to do with endo?

Hello,
Endmetriosis has got nothing to do with fatty liver. NASH (non alcoholic steatohepatitis/ fatty liver) is basically excess fat deposition in the liver along with inflammation. It is usually suspected when the liver enzymes, ALT & AST are raised in the blood and there are no reasons to explain this rise. NASH most often occurs in people who are in their middle ages and are overweight/obese.

If fatty liver is found, then you need to restrict your alcohol intake (if you are taking any) and do some regular exercise like brisk walking for 45 min-1 hour daily. Ursodeoxychiloic acid (UDCA) is supposed to help in reducing the fatty liver.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

I had total hysterectomy at age 31 due to class 5 endometriosis that had adhered to my colon, obliterated one ovary, obliterated appendix, adhered to bladder.   After the hysterectomy, CT and ultrasound showed 3 spots on liver and because they did not grow, doc said that it was endometriosis in the liver.  Since then I have been diagnosed with NA Fatty Liver disease. I am now 57 and having abdominal swelling, stomach pain, nausea, upset stomach after eating (and can only eat very small meals and very bland).  I am wondering do I need those 3 "spots" on my liver rechecked.
