I thought I was starting my period..?
The other day, I was using the bathroom... I had a BM.. When I wiped the front, there was blood. ( there was no anal bleeding.. i'm weird and wipe separately.. lol. but anyway, there was blood, so I figured some how, having a BM jump started my cycle.. It's done this before.. I put on a tampon and go to sleep.. When I get up to use the bathroom again, theres maybe a dot of brown blood on the tampon... I just figured it hadn't really started fully just yet... this has also happened before... (i'll put on a pad sometimes before bed, and wake up and nothings there, but as soon as i'm up it starts) but this time it didn't.. every time i'd change my tampon, there would be barely anything there, and it would be brown.. i'm basically waisting tampons... today one tampon had more brown blood than usual... but just on the tip.. mind you, this is two days after I thought I was starting... what does this mean? is there a possibility I could be spotting and i'll start soon, or is there a possibility of pregnancy... Me and my boyfriend have been trying, but it hasn't been happening, so we stopped making it a priority.. i'm sorry this is so long, but i'm really confused.. so please someone help me out please?
i took a test, and it was positive.. but to be sure i'm going to take another, and then if that ones positive, i'm going to set an appt.

Implantation usually occurs 6-12 days after ovulation, so depending on the length of your cycle, you could have it closer to the start of your next period. Waiting to test is always a good idea because those tests are expensive! :) Also if it's brown, you could have actually bled a few days earlier and it's just coming out now, hence why we call it "old" blood. so implantation bleeding can start around the time i'm supposed to start my period?
i always thought if that happened it would be a week after sex & ovulation.. its a little over two weeks...
& i was supposed to start yesterday, so theres still a possibility of me starting today, so i'll wait on taking the test.. i didn't think it could be old blood because toward the end of my cycle, there wasn't anything on the tampon, unlike now... but anyway thank you for the answers.. they really helping me.

It sounds like it could be implantation bleeding and brown blood is "old" blood. I would say try taking a pregnancy test and stop using tampons because you can contract TSS from overly using them if you are not on your period. Good luck TTC!
Spotting like that can be a sign of pregnancy. (implantation spotting) Are you actually late for your period? If so, you could go ahead and do a home pregnancy test. Good luck!
